License

What can I do with your projects?

stop-signSoooo here we come to the difficult point. The information sharing requires to be so careful… To put it in a nutshell: As a french citizen, I am protected by the french law. That means, if no license is indicated for something I made or published, you do NOT have ANY right on this thing. You cannot modify it, you cannot copy it, you cannot share it, etc. By publishing it on this website, I implicitly give you the right to use it for a private purpose (more generally, to use it fairly), but that’s all.

gnu-logoHowever, as it would be a little bit contradictory to claim to want to share knowledge and to forbid its use at the same time, my projects often have their own license, which can give you extended rights. For programming projects it’s often the GNU GPL v2.0 license. You will find a copy of the license with all concerned projects, but you can also find it here. Be aware that the license, whatever it is, generally only applies to the source code and NOT to the attached files like images, icons, etc. If ever a project does not have its own license, it’s probably because I forgot to give it one. In this case, just warn me, and I will correct the problem ASAP! 🙂

And your website itself? Can I do something with its content?

The website is under the protection of the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license. You can find the text here: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/. This license applies to all elements of this website I own personally, that is, content, images, video, and other published media (by “published”, I mean in a post or page), if no opposite mention (for the media, if needed, license is indicated in the attachment page). The header and the background images are also mines and covered by the license, but the general design and the HTML pages of the website are provided by WordPress, I don’t have any right on them, so neither do you. Once again, if no license is mentioned for an element, by default, you don’t have any right on it. Thanks for your respect! 🙂
